According to Klairs Cosmetics:

The Klairs Supple Preparation All-Over lotion is a fast absorbing lotion that immediately moisturize the skin. It is absorbed quickly without stickiness and use-able all throughout the year. This lotion has a lighter consistency than a cream, which allows faster absorption. Recommended for those who feel creams are too heavy. Klairs Cosmetics

This product can be used for all skin types. It can also be used on your body, face, and even your hair. (I never tried it on my hair as I have a separate hair oil for it, so I cannot vouch for how it helps with my hair)

Klairs has claimed that it is:

+ Cruelty-free
+ Vegan Friendly
+ Ethanol-free
+ Paraben-free
+ Silicon-free
+ Steroid-free
+ Artificial coloring-free
+ Artificial fragrance-free
+ pH 7.0 ± 1.0

Look & Feel

Klairs Supple Preparation All-Over Lotion Product

It comes in a pretty opaque tube bottle of 250 ml which is A LOT for a moisturiser. I even shared it with my boyfriend because he didn’t use any moisturiser at all. So I made him use it daily now. He had a dry, flaky patch (previously a scar from getting injured) and I told him to use on it nightly.

Nightly only because #guys. They don’t really like putting anything on their body lol.

Anyways, his dry patch isn’t flaky anymore and seems way better than before!

As you probably can see, it’s slightly translucent and the texture is really a lotion as the name says. It is a very lightweight moisturiser for people who don’t prefer heavy kinds.

On the box that came with the product, it also explained that:

It is an enriched lotion for dry and sensitive skin. It keeps skin from drying for long time and forms barrier to keep skin protected from external stimulus. Also, it helps to relieve flushing and irritation on contact with Ceramide NP, Sodium Hyaluronate, Polyquaternium-51 and Beta-Glucan while it nourishes and strengthens delicate vulnerable skin.

“One of several types of ceramides, which are naturally occurring, long chains of lipids (fats) that are major components of skin’s outer layers. Research shows moisturizers containing Ceramide NP can improve the look and feel of dry skin.” (Quoted from PaulasChoice.com)

Sodium Hyaluronate is the salt form of Hyaluronic Acid, a water-binding ingredient that has the ability to fill the spaces between the connective fibers known as collagen and elastin.” (Quoted from TruthinAging.com)

Polyquaternium-51 is a skin conditioning ingredient originally developed for the contact lens industry to maintain moisture and counteract dry eye.” (Quoted from TruthinAging.com)

“Polysaccharide sugar derived from yeast or oats. It has some antioxidant properties and is a skin-soothing agent. Beta-glucan is considered an excellent ingredient for improving the look of redness and other signs of sensitive skin.” (Quoted from PaulasChoice.com)

I also realised near the bottom of the list, there is Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, which is “a stable, water-soluble form of vitamin C that functions as an antioxidant and is potentially effective for brightening an uneven skin tone.” (Quoted from PaulasChoice.com)

Interesting. I don’t really notice any brightening effects but I do know it moisturises my face well.

For an oily combination/oily skin type, this is a good product, especially if you’ve hydrated your skin properly before using this moisturiser.

You might get oily from it after a while if you don’t, because your skin will not properly hydrated beforehand, which in turn causes your skin to feel dehydrated = skin will produce more sebum.

For normal to dry skin types, I don’t think this would be suitable for you especially in the winter or fall. I use this in humid Singapore by the way.

As it says, it is lightweight, but I feel it is definitely more suited for oily skin or sensitive types rather than dry skin types.

Yes

  • Absorbs quickly
  • Provides adequate moisture
  • Good for oily skin types
  • No fragrance (not that I can obviously smell)
  • Cruelty-free
  • 250 ml in a tube (hygienic)

No

  • Price is pretty steep for me (I might not have gotten it if it wasn’t on sale – Price listed above is Retail Price)
  • It might get oily if you do not hydrate enough before using it
  • Does not provide enough moisture if you use a mattifying sunscreen or pore primer on top = feels dry and tight

Am I Repurchasing?

I doubt so, I’m currently in search for a better moisturiser on the market. Most probably, the Korean market.
