Review | KraveBeauty Great Barrier Relief Serum

KraveBeauty Great Barrier Relief Serum Featured

Slowly adding the KraveBeauty products into my collection…

I have not gotten the Oat So Simple cream yet! Perhaps in the near future!

According to the website,

The Great Barrier Relief is a skin-soothing serum that restores your damaged skin barrier while evening out your complexion. This nourishing formula offers irritated skin a reset button by using tamanu oil and other ingredients that mimic a healthy barrier to replenish what your skin lacks.

I actually requested my friend to purchase on my behalf when she went to Korea last year.

After currency conversion, I paid about S$35 to my friend.

Having used this for roughly 8 months or so, here is my review for the Great Barrier Relief!

Look & Feel

KraveBeauty Great Barrier Relief Serum Product

The product came in a pump form as seen above. I’m only left with 1/4 of product in the bottle.

It lasted me quite a while despite having only 40ml because I didn’t use a lot each time.

Bottle is pretty sturdy too, I actually dropped this one by accident when I was going to take photos for this post lol.

Anyway, pump is easy to use and dispense.

Application

This is a ‘serum’ with Tamanu oil and despite having 10% of the oil present, this serum is not oily at all.

That in itself was a pleasant surprise for me. Hearing Liah Yoo praising Tamanu oil, I almost got the Tamanu oil to try while waiting for GBR to release.

Well, I almost did but I’m kind of glad I waited!

This is a hydrating and moisturising serum that feels so much like a lightweight moisturiser for me.

Sometimes when I’m feeling lazy or minimalistic, I use this as a last step, like a moisturiser.

Never had issues with my skin feeling dry or oily but the scent is a bit … natural.

Natural in the sense that you can tell there is no fragrance involved in the making which can be off putting for some people.

I don’t really mind but the smell could be strong and unpleasant for some of you who like their skincare products to be of calming and pleasant scents.

Great for those who likes products with no added fragrance though!

Whenever I have pimples or irritated skin, I use this and I do notice that it helps accelerate the healing of my skin.

Not only me, but my boyfriend who has some troubles do notice that it helps his skin too as compared to without. He has more of a dry combo skin – slightly oily inside, generally dry outside.

So, you have 2 reviews for this post!

If you’re looking a serum to help your skin press reset, I honestly think it would be good with the Kale Lalu yAHA too!

Yes

  • Lightweight
  • Non-greasy or sticky
  • Non-irritating and calms my troubled spots
  • Easy to dispense product – not much is needed
  • 2% of sales from this product goes to the Great Barrier Reef Foundation

No

  • Scent may be off putting to some
  • Price feels a bit steep for 40ml of product to me

Am I Repurchasing?

I think this will be repurchased when I can’t find a substitute that works better. Being a beauty blogger, I do like to explore more. But if I can’t find a better one, I’d probably buy this again.
