Review | Mamonde Ceramide Light Cream

Mamonde-Ceramide-Light-Cream-Featured

Having totally emptied my SANA Namerakahonpo Emulsion NA (Review) – I had been using my KraveBeauty Great Barrier Relief Serum (Review) as a moisturiser instead.

Both are pretty good emulsion and serum, if you are interested in them, you may click the link to see my reviews.

Anyway, since I was running out, I decided to get this Mamonde Ceramide Light Cream in full-size. I mentioned ‘in full-size’ because prior to buying this, my boyfriend and I decided to try the mini samples first to see how it feels.

Below is the mini size taken from my Instagram!

To know more about what this Ceramide Light Cream revolves around, I have added them here from the Mamonde website for your reference.

Powerful Hibiscus Moisture Barrier

Mamonde’s exclusively developed Ceramide PC-104 ingredient and the twice enhanced moisturizing effective ingredients of the hibiscus flower strengthen the skin’s batter to deliver moisture to the deepest layers of the skin.

Double-Moisture BarrierTM

The Double Moisture BarrierTM technique reinforces the skin’s moisture support to ensure that it retains its deep and comforting moisture over extended periods.

Superior Moisture Barrier from the Foundation

Improves the skin moisture barrier that is easily shattered by fine dust and other harmful environmental factors to create healthy skin that is superior from its very foundation.

Soft and Pleasant Texture

The Lipid Networking System technology delivers a non-sticky, moist formula that gently adheres and forms a comforting moisture barrier that feels no different from your very own skin.Mamonde

Basically, what I got from the main purpose of this product, would be how it aims to improve your skin barrier by providing sufficient moisture yet retaining it.

After the long introduction, let’s get down to the review!

Look & Feel

Mamonde Ceramide Light Cream Product

The period when I bought this, Mamonde Singapore announced that they will be closing their stores in February 2020 (also, this month).

It is quite a pity because now I have 2 products of theirs that I like! Will share down below.

So the Mamonde Ceramide Light Cream came in a sturdy plastic tub as seen above. They also had a second cover inside but I accidentally dropped it one day – and never used it again because I did not see the need to.

Whoops hehe.

Mamonde Ceramide Light Cream Product

I dropped the whole tub once (thankfully, while it was still CLOSED) but it didn’t crack or anything. I feel like I should somehow insert a ‘Easy to crack?’ Criteria because it seems like I almost always drop my products once when reviewing lol.

For this product, I will wash my hands with water and pat dry before dipping my finger into it. Might be iffy for some of you but I am too lazy to use a spatula for this.

Application

Another reason why I did not use a spatula right till the end (yes, I have officially finished this product as of posting this lol), was because it was not hard to reach.

The tub or jar if you would, is pretty cylindrical without any bends or crevices as you can see.

I recently bought another moisture cream in a tub that gave a spatula which might be of use due to some crevices. Check out my Instagram soon! 🙂

The appropriate amount I use for my face, and lightly on my neck.

As they mentioned this would be good for oily and normal combination skin, I got this instead of their ‘Intense’ version.

For the humid climate I’m in right now (Singapore), it’s definitely perfect for both day and night. It is lightweight yet provides the moisture I need.

It’s very rare for me to like a tub moisturiser because some of them always turn out too moisturising for me.

But if you are an oily combo skin like me, please give this or their samples a try! I hope you’ll like it.

Mamonde Ceramide Light Cream Application 2
Not too clear but it definitely sets into a supple-looking skin after a few minutes.

Not greasy at all, but you’ll feel like your skin is well moisturised.

There may be 2 downsides to using this product for some of you.

  1. Fragrance (sweet and pleasant perfume-like scent – that I actually don’t mind)
  2. I use this up really quickly! Started in early Jan 2020, and as of 19 Feb 2020, I’m out 🙁 .

To elaborate on the fragrance portion, the smell doesn’t linger once you apply and it sets on your face. However, my boyfriend can smell it when he comes near my face and says that it is pretty strong.

When I apply my Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence (Review) on top of this in the day though, he says that the smell is much more lighter LOL.

Also, if you’re interested, this did not ball up under my foundation or ruin my sunscreen application.

For whether this improved my skin barrier, it is pretty hard to tell as it is after all, just a moisturiser. Despite that, I love this as the last step of my routine.

Yes

  • Lightweight
  • Non-greasy
  • Non-irritating / did not break me out
  • Great for humid climates and normal / oily combo skin
  • Moisturising enough for combo oily skin

No

  • Fragrance maybe too strong for some / for those with very sensitive skin
  • Expensive for 50ml of product which finishes very fast for my usage – roughly 1.5 months plus

Am I Repurchasing?

Usually, I’d say I may… But for this, after using 20ml of the sample size, I went ahead to get their full size. Technically, I already ‘repurchased’ it because I liked it.

I would repurchase this for sure if I am unsure of what to get.

Although, I’m still experimenting various products, this will be my go-to product despite using it up quickly if I was not blogging about skincare haha.

By the way, the 2 products that I like from Mamonde are:

Ceramide Light Cream (this review!)

Chamomile Pure Toner (Review) – a fuss-free 6-ingredient-only toner for even sensitive skin types

Similarly reviewed this too: Rose Water Toner (Review) but the above 2 are the ones that I like.

Moisturisers are really tricky, have you found your holy grail? What are some that you like? If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

  1. Hey Layna, thanks for the review. I’ve been tempted to try this one for a while but I couldn’t find much information out there, so great that you’ve put it through its paces. I like the look of it although it does sound like it will get used up quite quickly. I’m going to give it a go and see how I get on 🙂

    1. Hi Priscilla,

      Thanks for the comment!
Yes, you’ll definitely go through it quickly but I hope you’ll like it too. 🙂
